Fire Performance

The fire performance of roofing and cladding systems is one of the primary considerations in selecting a product to specify. With many recent and ongoing changes to advisory documents and building regulations, as well as tightening focus on insurance standards, the importance of the fire performance of metal building systems including their insulation and components is key.

The Building Safety Act

At CA Group we believe in ensuring our products are as future proof as possible, therefore our normal cladding systems will typically offer fire resistance and insurance standard compliance as a default - however is it important to check and ensure that any system being specified or used fully complies with your requirements. We believe it is vitally important for everyone in the construction supply chain to have an appropriate level of competence, and to ask the awkward questions to ensure valid certification is available and current.

The Building Safety Act makes competence a statutory requirement, and is enforceable by the Health and Safety Executive. Other significant changes to building regulations create clarity regarding the use of any combustible materials and where they can (or more importantly can’t) be used to form part of a building roof or wall.
