Sales Estimator - CA Building Products

CA Group requires an Estimator to work within our Building Products Division.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-organised and effective communicator with a desire to forge a career within Sales & Estimating.

Reporting to the Supply Chain & Commercial Manager this position will involve working within a team, liaising with clients and contractors, using drawings and project specifications to determine manufacture timescales and supplying estimations which the company uses to bid for work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimating the total project cost, including design, procurement, manufacture and delivery.
  • Preparation of estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
  • Liaising with the external sales team to ensure leads and enquiries are followed up in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Provide support to the external sales team.
  • Maintain relationships with existing clients through proactive contact
  • Ability to balance pricing issues with customer requirements.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within a similar role. Strong understanding of the individual roles played by clients, contractors and consultants.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the capacity of Estimator.

Trainee Business Development Manager

We currently require a Trainee Business Development Manager to join our Development Team. Reporting to the Development Manager, the role will involve an initial period of in-house training, familiarisation with the basic principles of the business and its ethos, as well as developing a technical understanding of our building envelope systems and services. Liaising daily with our established network of architectural teams, whilst also exploring and establishing new business leads, the role will be varied with an opportunity for skills and career development within this well-established and successful company.

Salary negotiable depending on experience, with the opportunity to enrol on sponsored FE/HE education and training opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Trainee Business Development Manager you will be working as part of CA Group’s Development Team and reporting directly to the Development Manager. Your role will involve an initial period of in-house training, familiarising yourself with the basic principles of the business and its ethos, as well as developing a solid technical understanding of our building envelope systems and services. From there you will embark on an exciting, customer-focused commercial role, liaising daily with our established network of architectural teams, whilst also exploring and establishing new business leads.

This role will require you to work closely with both our manufacturing and contracting teams as you track projects from conception & design, through to specification, tender, installation and completion. As such you should be thorough in your approach to problem-solving and have a good eye for detail whilst also being able to plan and organise your time effectively and work to concise deadlines. This role will require national travel and as such a full UK driving licence is essential.

IT Support Engineer

We presently require an experienced IT Support Engineer to join our growing company. This is an integral role within our IT team and will involve a range of responsibilities, aiding with the provision of IT infrastructure services including desktop, network, security and telecommunications.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Infrastructure Analyst, this role requires an individual with a positive attitude and a drive to aid with the continual improvement of IT to support CA Group's ongoing company development.  It will involve ensuring that the IT systems are secure and robust at all times, providing departmental performance reports, managing and tracking service desk requests, budget tracking and reporting, development of IT documentation, policies and procedures. It will also include participating and contributing to continuous improvement activities throughout the company, liaising with other departments to develop and enhance the current IT systems, management of third-party suppliers, as well as providing strategic input into the future direction of IT within the company. Additional duties may be required, appropriate to the nature and level of the job role.

The following knowledge, skills and experience are required for this role:

Microsoft desktop support, Microsoft server support (2008 +, Exchange, Active Directory), VMWare administration, VEEAM backup, SAN Administration (Nimble preferred), bg Network (TCP/IP, administration of network switches, firewall administration - Cisco Meraki preferred). 

Third-party relationship management, business continuity, disaster recovery planning, budget management and control.  

Excellent communication, organisational and customer service skills are required as well as experience of working in a customer service environment. Experience of working in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.

Quantity Surveyor - CA Roofing Services

Reporting to the Surveying Manager the post holder will take responsibility for a wide range of commercial projects within our busy contracting division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and agreeing valuations with clients and ensuring payments are received in accordance with subcontract agreements 
  • Preparing accurate take off of material quantities from drawings 
  • Follow procedures to ensure proper allocation of job cost 
  • Pricing of contract variations 
  • Preparing subcontractor payment certificates, calculation and allocation of subcontractor payments and updating spreadsheets accordingly 
  • Assist in the control of supply chain ensuring full visibility of liabilities

Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

It is essential that the successful candidate has extensive experience performing maintenance operations on conventional machines (Lathes / Milling Machinery).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports.
  • Confer with engineers/contractors and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions and provide technical information.
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation.
  • Provide feedback to managers with a degree of accuracy.
  • Able to recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
  • Establish and co-ordinate the maintenance and safety procedures, service schedule and supply of materials required for maintaining machines and equipment in the prescribed condition.
  • Collaborate with electrical/mechanical engineers and other personnel to identify, define and solve machine related problems.

  • Mechanically biased with electrical knowledge as an advantage.
