CA Group require an Estimator to work within our Building Products Division. We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-organised and effective communicator with a desire to forge a career within Sales & Estimating.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimating the total project cost, including design, procurement, manufacture and delivery.
  • Preparation of estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
  • Liaising with the external sales team to ensure leads and enquiries are followed up in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Provide support to the external sales team.
  • Maintain relationships with existing clients through proactive contact
  • Ability to balance pricing issues with customer requirements.

CA Group require a Production Coordinator to work within the Building Products Division. The successful candidate will report to the Product Engineering Manager and is responsible for coordinating all departmental orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communication with customers and suppliers via telephone and e-mail.
  • Work with Product Engineers, Supervisors and Product Engineering Manager to develop concept designs.
  • Build and maintain an excellent working relationship with department Supervisors.
  • Produce itemised take-offs for Order Processing team.

You’ll be a confident communicator with good verbal skills, able to articulate and present ideas to colleagues, to deliver high levels of customer service and work as part of a team. You’ll be thorough in your approach to problem-solving and have a good eye for detail. You’ll be able to manage your time effectively, working to deadlines, creating forward plans for design production and tracking design progress and spend. You’ll be keen to fully define and grasp design briefs and to proactively come up with design solutions to help us better engage and communicate with our publics.

You will have already gained a sound understanding of design theory and principles and have developed rounded graphic design skills, including corporate design and branding, newsletter and brochure production, advertising and page setting, web design and social media graphics. The ability to illustrate and create designs from scratch would be a real benefit. You’ll have experience of using the Adobe suite, in particular, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator and have future ambitions to develop your immersive design skills in 3D design and VR.

You may be at an intermediate stage in your education/career development, working towards an HND or a top-up degree - or alternatively at a late apprentice stage with design skills showing real promise. Demonstrable design skills through an up-to-date portfolio would be beneficial. Quantity Surveyor - CA Roofing Services

Reporting to the Surveying Manager the post holder will take responsibility for a wide range of commercial projects within our busy contracting division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and agreeing valuations with clients and ensuring payments are received in accordance with subcontract agreements 
  • Preparing accurate take off of material quantities from drawings 
  • Follow procedures to ensure proper allocation of job cost 
  • Pricing of contract variations 
  • Preparing subcontractor payment certificates, calculation and allocation of subcontractor payments and updating spreadsheets accordingly 
  • Assist in the control of supply chain ensuring full visibility of liabilities 
  • Issue of subcontract enquiries, comparison of quotes, undertake negotiations and placing of comprehensive orders 
  • Contribute to the formulation of monthly financial reports 
  • Negotiation and agreement of final accounts with main contractor QS 
  • Cash flow forecasting across all contracts to project company turnover
  • Liaising with estimating, design, purchasing and contracts teams to ensure any changes and potential cost overspends are identified as soon as practicable, ensuring costs are recovered and future overspends avoided wherever possible 
  • Working with the Commercial Manager to provide cost control and reporting on individual contracts, as well as overview and cost management of all contracts for CA Roofing Services division 
  • Supervision and training of assistant / trainee QS

An Assistant Quantity Surveyor is responsible for assisting the Quantity Surveyor with commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the preparation of valuations with clients

  • Be fully conversant with AutoCAD 2D/3D.  Experience of the BIM environment would be preferred but not essential
  • Ability to engineer solutions from first principles, demonstrating the ability to undertake fundamental calculations to support the design concept
  • Knowledge or understanding of key building performance characteristics such as thermal, acoustic & structural
  • Previous experience in delivering multiple projects, ensuring deadlines and budgets are maintained
  • Previous experience of managing NPI projects preferable but not essential
  • Ability to positively influence and communicate with all team members
  • Excellent PC skills with specific knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
