Technical Specifications, Reaction to Fire

BS EN 13501-1 Reaction to Fire Classification

Currently the most common standard referred to when discussing Reaction to Fire is BS EN 13501-1 Euroclass classification, which describes products as A1, A2, B, C, D, E, F or unclassified for Reaction to Fire. It is important to be clear that A1 classification is defined as non-combustible, A2 as limited combustibility and all other reaction to fire classifications are deemed combustible.

LPCB LPS 1181

LPCB LPS 1181 is also sometimes referred to as a reaction to fire standard, in that it is intended to determine the performance of an assembly in the developing stages of a fire, so as to derive a risk assessment for the products and construction being used.
