IT Support Engineer

We presently require an experienced IT Support Engineer to join our growing company. This is an integral role within our IT team and will involve a range of responsibilities, aiding with the provision of IT infrastructure services including desktop, network, security and telecommunications.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Infrastructure Analyst, this role requires an individual with a positive attitude and a drive to aid with the continual improvement of IT to support CA Group's ongoing company development.  It will involve ensuring that the IT systems are secure and robust at all times, providing departmental performance reports, managing and tracking service desk requests, budget tracking and reporting, development of IT documentation, policies and procedures. It will also include participating and contributing to continuous improvement activities throughout the company, liaising with other departments to develop and enhance the current IT systems, management of third-party suppliers, as well as providing strategic input into the future direction of IT within the company. Additional duties may be required, appropriate to the nature and level of the job role. 

Salary negotiable depending on experience.

The following knowledge, skills and experience are required for this role:

Microsoft desktop support, Microsoft server support (2008 +, Exchange, Active Directory), VMWare administration, VEEAM backup, SAN Administration (Nimble preferred), bg Network (TCP/IP, administration of network switches, firewall administration - Cisco Meraki preferred). 

Third-party relationship management, business continuity, disaster recovery planning, budget management and control.  

Excellent communication, organisational and customer service skills are required as well as experience of working in a customer service environment. Experience of working in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.

Apprentice Field Services Engineer

We are looking for an apprentice, who will be trained by the Company as a Field Services Engineer. Under the supervision of the Field Services Manager, you will receive the appropriate on-the-job training and support to enable you to gain the necessary knowledge and skills. This training will be combined with attending further education to study for an appropriate qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

Carrying out such tasks and duties as directed by the Technical & Engineering Manager and Technical Director that are designed to develop levels of performance and competence, with the aim to progress to Field Services Engineer. 

The Company will provide all relevant training required for the role. It will involve becoming proficient in all aspects of Field Service support to:

  • Interpret technical drawings and specification
  • Produce installation guidance/instruction
  • Updating and amending existing technical documentation
  • Understanding construction methods and processes
  • Participating in training and improvement initiatives
  • Gaining an understanding of production processes, methods and techniques
  • Undertaking site inspections, alongside Field Service Engineers/Manager delivering the product/system guidance and assistance to customers
  • Producing site visit/inspection reports
  • Developing, training, design, problem-solving, research and development of existing product range including innovation of new markets, products, etc
  • Assisting with the design and specification of all metal roof and wall cladding systems, industrial drainage systems, rainscreen systems and all other fabricated accessories
  • Assisting in all areas of problem-solving through the factory and/or site visit
  • Learning installation skills to assist the team in all aspects of field service delivery

We are looking for an apprentice to work within the company’s Technical Department. The candidate could be either in full time or part-time further education in an engineering discipline, but not essential. All engineering disciplines; BIM, architectural, electrical, mechanical and civil will be considered. The successful candidate will be trained by the Company to become a qualified Technical Engineer.

Under the supervision of the Technical & Engineering Manager, you will receive the appropriate on-the-job training and support to enable you to gain the necessary knowledge and skills. This training will be combined with attending further education to study for an appropriate qualification.

The Company will provide all relevant training required for the software packages used by the Technical Department, including, but not limited to; AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, Tekla TEDDS.

Additionally, to become proficient in all aspects of technical support to;

  • Understand specialist computer software to produce technical information; drawings, information papers, reports, etc
  • Update and amend existing drawings and other technical documentation
  • Understand construction methods and processes
  • Participate in training and improvement initiatives
  • Develop, training, design, problem-solving, research and development of existing product range including innovation of new markets, products, etc
  • Assist with the design and specification of all metal roof and wall cladding systems, industrial drainage systems, rainscreen systems and all other fabricated accessories

Assistant Management Accountant

We have a vacancy for an Assistant Management Accountant within our busy accounts department. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role requires the below skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the computation of the various company accounts and monthly financial reports, both the P&L and the Balance Sheet.
• Calculate monthly accruals, prepayments and depreciation.
• Maintain accurate fixed asset registers.
• Input financial data to the monthly Management Information Packs to given deadlines, and provide variance analysis and commentary as          appropriate.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
• Develop product costing and subsequent profitability analysis within the manufacturing division. 
• Continually adapt and improve all aspects of reporting, utilising strong IT skills.
• Help prepare year-end statutory accounts, liaising with auditors as required.
• Compute and submit quarterly VAT returns and various other statistical data to the appropriate authorities.
• Help develop the Finance system within the wider ERP context, to achieve effective and efficient ways of working.
• Ad hoc tasks to help meet the day-to-day responsibilities of the small Finance team.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Monthly management accounting experience, preferably within industry/manufacturing (desirable)
Experience of financial modelling, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Extensive exposure to computerised accounting systems, preferably in an ERP context.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation, and with external professionals.
Proven interpersonal, relationship-building skills.

Reporting directly to the Technical & Engineering Manager, this role requires the experience of dealing with customers, specifiers and main contractors at all levels. You will be one of the key drivers of innovation and product excellence and have the use of in-house technical systems and software whilst providing support to various projects and in-house departments. You will be provided support and training to develop in this role to deliver a high level of support to the Technical & Engineering Manager.

  • Becoming a key driver of product development of both existing and new products and systems
  • Utilising in-house technical systems and software whilst providing support to external customers, specifiers and in-house departments
  • Produce wind load calculations to current standards and provide advice/recommendations
  • Provide support and guidance to the Apprentice Technical Engineer(s) and external sales and development teams
  • Produce design concepts, supporting sketches and fully detailed technical drawings for the R&D of existing systems and new innovations
  • Dealing with day-to-day technical enquiries and calculations providing prompt and accurate information to customers and clients
  • Produce new and update existing technical information papers, drawings, documents and articles

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience within an engineering discipline (all engineering disciplines; BIM, architectural, electrical and mechanical will be considered), with minimum HNC qualification (or working towards)
  • Conversant with one or more of the following; AutoDesk packages; AutoCAD, Inventor, RevitExperience with Tekla TEDDS, would be preferred but not essential
  • Experience of the BIM environment would be preferred but not essential
  • Have experience of dealing with customers, specifiers, main contractors etc, at all levels, with the aptitude to communicate well and build strong relationships

Quantity Surveyor - CA Roofing Services

Reporting to the Commercial Manager the post holder will take responsibility for a wide range of commercial projects within our busy contracting division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and agreeing valuations with clients and ensuring payments are received in accordance with subcontract agreements 
  • Preparing accurate take off of material quantities from drawings 
  • Follow procedures to ensure proper allocation of job cost 
  • Pricing of contract variations 
  • Preparing subcontractor payment certificates, calculation and allocation of subcontractor payments and updating spreadsheets accordingly 
  • Assist in the control of supply chain ensuring full visibility of liabilities 
  • Issue of subcontract enquiries, comparison of quotes, undertake negotiations and placing of comprehensive orders 
  • Contribute to the formulation of monthly financial reports 
  • Negotiation and agreement of final accounts with main contractor QS 
  • Cash flow forecasting across all contracts to project company turnover
