HR Business Partner

Department:  Human Resources Department

Responsible to:  HR Manager

Job Summary/Key Responsibilities:

> Support in the delivery of the company People Plan

> Deliver a high-level HR service to support the business through continued growth

> Support the business in growing robust and effective HR processes and procedures

> Handle HR queries on HR policies and procedures, employment law and employee relations issues

> Provide professional advice, coaching and support to managers in line with company policies and procedures

> Development of job descriptions, skills matrices and person specifications

> Support the recruitment process by sourcing high caliber candidates for interview

> Provide support to Managers as part of the interviewing panel and ensure the smooth running of the recruitment process

> Support and coach Line Managers with probationary and appraisal processes to ensure that all are completed within the agreed timescales

> Support and coach Line Managers to identify training and development requirements through job analysis and appraisal processes

> Support the daily management of the Company’s time and attendance system including weekly and monthly timesheet processing

> Provide statistical reporting and insight on staff turnover, sickness, absence and time-keeping

> Attend disciplinary and grievance meetings when required

> Liaise with the Company’s Employment Law Solicitors when required

> Managing sickness absence, holding welfare meetings and arranging occupational health referrals

> Support with the development and updating of HR policies to ensure the business continues to meet its legal requirements and continue to support its colleagues

> Take the lead on projects as required by the business

> Take the lead on HR reporting as required by the Company

> Improve the capability of the management team to enable them to deal with queries and issues relating to performance, attendance and timekeeping

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

> CIPD Level 5 qualification is desirable

> Previous experience within a generalist HR role is essential

> Knowledge of employment law

> Previous experience of the utilisation of the apprenticeship levy is desirable

> Ability to take on responsibility and ownership within the role

> Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills

> A can do, proactive attitude is essential within this varied role

> Ability to use initiative, offer new ideas and resolve problems

> Analytical with the ability to problem solve

> Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders

> Ability to engage at all levels

> Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality    

Press Brake Operator

Department:  Production

Responsible to:  Production Supervisor


Key Responsibilities:

> Set and operate Press Brake

> Load and unload metal on to machine using overhead cranes

> Set machines to pre-determined machining setups and tooling requirements

> Production of first-off sample, prepared for initial inspection

> Adjust CNC settings when required

> Change tooling heads

> Coach / Train labourer

> Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed correctly

> Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality

> Assist in housekeeping

Knowledge, skills and experience:

> Ability to work in a team

> Understanding H&S in production environment

> Good knowledge of press brake operation

Sheet Metal Worker

Responsible to:  Department Supervisor

Responsible for:  A Sheet Metal Worker reports to the Department Supervisor and is responsible for fabricating and assembling sheet metal products

Job Summary/Key Responsibilities 

> Setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend and straighten sheet metal

> T.I.G. welding of aluminium and stainless steel

> M.I.G welding of mild and galvanised steel

> Working with materials 1mm to 6mm thick

> To read and correctly interpret engineering drawings

> Development and pattern making

> Drilling and punching

> To work to deadlines to meet customer requirements

 

Knowledge, Skills& Experience

> Understanding of machine capabilities

> Understanding of machine tolerances

> Quality awareness

> Health and safety awareness

Site Manager

PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION IS FOR ATTAIN BES

Responsible to:  General Manager

Key Responsibilities:

> Implementation of procedures as set out in the Site Manager’s Site Safety Pack

> Implement Method Statements and ensure the work is carried out in accordance with Health & Safety Regulations

> Monitoring safety standards on site and action as required

> Co-ordination and distribution of materials from date of shipment through to site installation

> Inspect and check that all deliveries are complete and free from damage, delivery tickets and orders check/sign off are complete

> Producing, maintaining and issue of daily records including obtaining of site instructions and day works accordingly including the recording of delays/hold up’s etc

> Monitor on site progress versus programme and action as required to maintain progress in line with programme period

> Site adopting/creating systems of work and preparation to enable a more efficient utilisation of labour plant and materials

> Organising and controlling of sub-contract labour including dealing with payments and disciplinary matters

> Controlling plant and materials including costs

> Ensuring high standards of workmanship and good housekeeping are achieved at all times

> Ensuring works are completed, de-snagged and handed over as works progress

> Ensuring the works are installed and completed in accordance with the specification, the relevant QA procedures

> Implementation and control of site QA procedures

> Attend meetings with the main contractor/client such as, programme, co-ordination, safety etc

> Ensuring Client satisfaction is maintained and enhanced

> Reporting and application of all Company policies, which may from time to time, be reviewed

> Any other duties as requested by Line Managers

The successful candidate will have a delegated duty and be directly responsible for the implementation of the organisation’s General Policy on Safety, Health and Environment, within all construction activities undertaken by Attain BES.
