CA Twin-Therm® Griffon Curved Apex Roof Design

CA Twin-Therm® Griffon curved roof uses the principles and benefits of Twin-Therm® Quantum, with roof profiles self-curved across the apex of the roof to achieve the required external sheet end lap.

CA Twin-Therm® Griffon Roof

CA Twin-Therm® Griffon is a unique roof solution, readily identifiable, and is ideal where large spans are desired in order to maximise internal usable building space, minimise or remove valley details and improve the overall efficiency of buildings with a large plan layout. The curved apex flows into straight pitched roof slopes, achieving the correct minimum roof pitch at the endlap position. This solution has many benefits as detailed below.

Griffon Specifications

Below the curved apex the roof flows into a straight pitch to the eaves

Can facilitate a lower apex height than other designs and roof options

May be considered an option on larger spanning buildings, instead of standing seam or secretfix roof systems

The CA Twin-Therm® Griffon curved roof utilises an external roof sheet spanning over the apex to the first end-lap position, after which the roof flows into a straight pitch design (minimum 4.0° design, 2.5° after settlement and deflection)

External rooflights also span over the apex minimising internal shading and improving natural daylight distribution

Large span can reduce or eliminate internal valley gutters, reducing future risk of water ingress. Potential to significantly reduce build cost and reducing through-life maintenance requirements and cost

Large span buildings can reduce the number of columns, increase free internal areas and can be extremely effective for larger buildings
